The History
It was in 1939 that Walter Phillips established Phillips in
Perivale, Middlesex, as a manufacturer of "Mounts and Albums of distinction
and good taste". Under the Unicorn brand name came high
quality photo albums and presentation products. As the company
grew, so
too did the reputation.
Phillips were often involved with producing presentation albums
for the royal family. On Tuesday 13th July 1954, Queen Elizabeth
II was presented with a with a photography album, containing 66
coronation celebration photographs.
During a visit to Mauritius during March 1972, both Queen Elizabeth
II and Princess Margaret received Walter Phillips presentation
albums to commemorate their visits.
In 1977 Prince Charles was presented with a Walter Phillips album
featuring royal cartoons by the press club.
Phillips was also selected to provide the famous This Is Your
Life books for ITV. In 1969 Phillips produced the first ever "red
book", and continued to produce the books throughout the
entire series of the show in the UK.
Phillips Today
Today Phillips has evolved into Phillips Plastics, and can now
be found in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire where our main offices,
design studio and production centre operate. To this day, we remain
a forward thinking solutions based company with a strong heritage,
making us a company you can trust.
What do we offer?
We design and manufacture high quality ring binders, presentation
boxes and cases, retail and promotional packaging, point-of-sale
displays and dispensers and other custom made solutions. We offer
custom made solutions in polypropylene, PVC, paper over board,
PU and leather. We also offer our POD (Print On Demand) range of
products.
