Phillips Plastics recognises that we have an impact on the environment and that we should act to reduce this impact by conducting our business in a responsible, considerate and thoughtful manner.

Therefore we are committed

• to reducing our negative impact on the environment
• to reducing the waste generated from our production activities
• to recycling unavoidable waste wherever possible
• to exploring opportunities to use materials that are recycled, recyclable or biodegradable
• to continually reduce our carbon emissions
• to encouraging our employees to be aware of their responsibilities in their use of energy and impact to the environment
• to meet all necessary legislative requirements and regulations

Return to Base Program

We are all trying to do our bit for the environment by recycling as much of our waste as possible but how do you go about recycling a plastic ring binder?

Traditional PVC binders consist of board, metal and plastic components that are not easily broken down resulting in many binders ending up in landfill.

To tackle this issue head-on we are now offering a ‘Return to Base’ service for any of the products you have purchased from us. If you do your bit and return the goods, we will break them down into their component materials and arrange appropriate recycling.

• All plastics will be separated and returned to mill for regranulation.
• All metal fittings will be sent for scrap metal recycling.
• All cardboard, solid board and papers will be added to our recycling collection.

We use local recycling collection services and specialist waste collections where needed, for recycling PVC or Polypropylene for example.

We are continually seeking new products and solutions that tackle environmental issues head on and give you additional options. Like our new removable ring mechanisms, our 88% recycled 'Tuff' material or our reusable 'POD' print On Demand range of products.

" Following recommendation, I contacted Peter and requested to come to their office to see and talk through the options available. Whilst I was there, two prototypes were made to match my concept. In addition, Peter suggested a recycled product that still had all the attributes of other products with the additional benefit of fitting in with our Corporate and Social Responsibility stance.

The response to our folders has been extremely positive.
